Description

Wire cooling machine (From a Plant for fire aluminizing steel wire)

The coated wire exits the coating device at a temperature > 550°C. The wire temperature must be lowered for the winding process.

After the first brief quenching and solidification of the coating, the wire is cooled atmospherically in a cooling channel by means of a cooling fan. The atmospheric cooling prevents the wire from cooling too quickly and thus solidifying (increasing strength).

The wire is cooled down to temperatures < 50C in a subsequent quenching basin water bath. The quenching basin has 2 stages, 1st stage | 60°C, 2nd stage < 40°C.

The temperatures are controlled in such a way that the wire exits with sufficient residual heat to ensure that the wire is post-dried and the residual moisture is blown off.

The temperature and fill level of the quenching tank are monitored. If necessary, fresh water is added via an electromechanical directional control valve. If the temperature is exceeded, the cooling water is cooled down by the central cooling unit via a heat exchanger.
